Can My Baby Have Acne?

Neonatal Acne, or baby acne, can develop at birth or within the first few weeks of life.  They can present as little red bumps that occur mainly on the cheeks and foreheads. There is some thought that this could be due to exposure to maternal hormones during pregnancy. Although distressing for most parents, this condition is harmless and will generally resolve on its own. Until then, use a gentle cleanser, like Cetaphil or Cerave to cleanse the skin. If still concerned, you should always check with your medical provider.
